Need Help With Pumping? A Step-by-Step Guide to Using the SporraMom W2

Pumping breast milk can sometimes feel frustrating — if the latch isn’t right, suction isn’t sufficient, or milk flow is slow, it may become more of a chore than a help. The SporraMom W2 wearable breast pump is designed to ease some of the common pain points by combining a wearable, hands-free design with gentle heating therapy. Below is a guide to help you get the most out of it.

Before You Begin: Preparation Tips

  1. Ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed

Stress or tension can inhibit let-down. Try doing a short warm compress, gentle breast massage, or some deep breathing before attaching the pump.

  2. Check your nipple and breast fit

The W2 comes with three insert sizes (17mm, 19mm, 21mm) to match your nipple size. Use the included size card to measure and select the best fit.

A poor fit (too large or too small) can reduce effectiveness or cause discomfort.

  3. Sterilize and clean parts ahead of time

Before first use, sanitize all washable parts (flange, milk collector, valve, diaphragm) by boiling or steam, following the manufacturer’s instructions (≤100 °C for 5–10 minutes)

Always have spare parts or a second set ready when pumping frequently.

  4. Charge the pump fully

The pump uses a motor (not washable) which must be detached and charged via a 5V/1A adapter. A flashing red light indicates low battery; fully charged light is steady green.

On a full charge, it can run for about 90–100 minutes — roughly 4 to 5 sessions.

How to Use the SporraMom W2: Step by Step

Step 1: Select & install the insert

Use the size card to choose the best insert (flange) diameter. Then attach it to the breast pump unit.

Step 2: Attach to the breast

Press the pump gently but firmly so it contacts the breast surface fully (to create a good seal).

Ensure there are no gaps or folds between your breast and the flange.

Step 3: Secure with a bra or extender

Tighten your pumping bra (or use the included bra extender) so the pump stays in place but doesn’t compress the breast tissue.

Step 4: Start pumping (two-phase system)

  • Massage (stimulation) mode mimics a baby’s initial quick suck to help trigger let-down.

  • Once milk begins to flow, switch to expression mode for a smoother, deeper suction to extract milk efficiently.

The W2 offers multiple suction levels (9 levels) so you can adjust based on comfort and flow.

Step 5: Use the heating therapy

The built-in heating function warms the breast during pumping to encourage milk flow and help relieve engorgement or clogged ducts.

Be sure to monitor comfort — if heat feels too strong, reduce suction or pause.

Step 6: Pour and store milk

The device has a small pouring hole for transferring milk from the collector to storage bottles or bags.

Label, refrigerate, or freeze according to safe breast milk storage guidelines.

Tips for Better Pumping Flow & Comfort

  • Always start with low suction and gradually increase. If you feel pain or pinching, reduce suction or check the fit.

  • Use the massage/stimulation mode for at least 1–2 minutes before raising suction.

  • Gentle breast massage toward the nipple during pumping can help move milk.

  • If you experience clogged ducts or tight areas, increase heat a bit or pause and massage.

  • Pump regularly and consistently to maintain supply.

  • Rotate between flanges/inserts if possible to relieve pressure.

  • Keep spare parts on hand in case anything wears or breaks — you don’t want to skip a session because of a missing part.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Only 4 parts are washable (milk collector, flange, valve, diaphragm) alongside the motor (which is not washable)

  • Clean after each session. For hygiene, sanitize daily via boiling, steam, or sanitizing device (≤100 °C, 5–10 minutes)

  • Inspect parts regularly (valves, membranes) for wear or damage and replace when needed.

  • When not in use or during charging, store the pump in a clean, dry pouch (often included).
